The Mainer thing to say when you come across construction is, "summer's here!"

This summer, the construction project near you may not be happening after all. Rising construction costs meant over $59 million was cut from the Maine Department of Transportation's annual work plan. Several of the Maine DOT's project plans came in well above their allotted budgets, causing several to be cancelled or delayed.

The Press Herald published a list of all construction being stalled or delayed to make budget. Is there a project near you on the list? Pro: you won't have to deal with navigating your way around construction this summer! Con: you will have to navigate your way around the dilapidated pavement and ever-growing potholes.
