The Associated Press is reporting of an officer involved shooting that happened Friday evening at the Burger King in Gorham.

The Maine attorney general’s office spokesman Marc Malon said  Kyle Needham, a Standish resident, was shot and killed by Gorham Police officer Dean Hannon after the 32 year old Needham attempted to flee from police using a truck. The article reports Hannon is now on administrative leave.

According to the article, Needham used the truck to ram at least one police vehicle, authorities say when it appeared another officer was in danger of being run over by the truck is when the fatal shot was fired. No officers were hurt in the incident.

This wasn't the first run in that police had with Needham, the article reports Needham was wanted on warrants. Most recently police had asked for help locating Needham after he led authorities on a high speed chase through Hollis.
