I'm not the target audience for shows like TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. It's another one of those reality shows that just makes me cringe to look at. However, my girlfriend Michele is addicted to this stuff. That's how I learned that the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has a Mainer on it.

So the premise of the show is that Americans move to another country to marry someone they've (usually) never met. Being in a foreign country is a bit of culture shock for most, and therein lies the struggle that gives the show its "can't-miss" allure. Michele is hooked.

One of the contestants is James from Maine. That's all we know at this point, because you rarely know their last names. We also don't know where in Maine he's from. He's just "James from Maine."

According to TLC's website, James & Meitalia have been married and living somewhere here in Maine for two-and-a-half years after meeting online. Meitalia is homesick and decides she and James need to move to Indonesia to be with her family, which James isn't exactly excited about.

The first episode of Season 6 has already aired, but the one featuring James & Meitalia seems set to air on TLC on Monday, July 8. If you miss it, don't worry. TLC will rerun it seven times between July 8 and July 21. You can also watch it on demand on TLC Go, Max, and a half-dozen other streaming services.
