Maine’s First Official Cornhole Sports Bar is Coming to Lewiston
Could Lewiston become the cornhole capital?
If it was up to Sliders Sports Pub, it sure would be. According to the Sun Journal, Sliders has hopes to be just that - a cornhole destination.
Plans are to fill the massive 9,000-square-foot space in the Lewiston mall with seven boards, a retail pro shop, restaurant seating, a bar, and a stage for live music and events. Sliders, Lewiston Mall's newest tenant, wants those that love the game cornhole to go there for their cornhole fix. Looking for a t-shirt, or cornhole bags and boards, co-owner Tyler Babb will sell those. He told the Sun Journal,
One of the things that’s really unique is the boards that we’re going to be selling are the boards that you’re going to be using in the cornhole area, so you can play before you buy.
Renovations have started and they are shooting to open Sliders Sports Pub by mid-August where the old B&K Buffet was. But, starting a business is not easy and there are things that pop up that you don't expect. This is their first go at opening a business. They want to be open from 11 a to 11 pm and even earlier on the weekends. They plan to have a full liquor license and smash burgers, fried chicken and pulled pork. Yum!
Not to brag, but I actually won a cornhole championship when I played at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital for a fun event they were doing. Yes, that is News Center Maine's, Lee Goldberg. He did not win.
I mean, I don't want to show off or anything. Honestly, I think it was a lot of luck, but I do enjoy throwing some corn bags! I hope they are a huge success!
