UPDATE: I-95 in Augusta has reopened and the incident has been resolved, according to WMTW.

Police closed I-95 in Augusta on Monday morning.

WMTW reported that a man with a gun had stopped his car on the on ramp of exit 113. He was alone in the car.

All traffic was diverted in Augusta, both north and sound bound, the news station reported.

At the time, people were advised to use other roads through Sidney to get back onto the turnpike past the closed part.

Traffic was being detoured off the highway at Exit 109 northbound and Exit 112 southbound, according to WMTW, and police said the incident began around 6 Monday morning.
