If you remember Laverne and Shirley, you remember that Shirley was played by the actress Cindy Williams...no, not OUR Cindy.

What would happen if NewsCenter's Cindy Williams met Laverne and Shirley's Cindy William. Well, it just so happens that actress Cindy was in town for Friday and Saturday's performances of 'Menopause: The Musical at Ogunquit Playhouse.

According to NewsCenter Maine, when Cindy Williams was first hired, she was asked all the time if she was THE Cindy Williams from Laverne and Shirley. She would even be asked for her autograph. Really? When NewsCenter heard that the actress Cindy Williams was in town...well, they knew exactly who needed to interview her.

Cindy Williams is not a super unusual name, so the actress has a lot of them in her life. But our Cindy Williams and the famous one have a special connect because they are both Cynthia Jane Williams. Okay...that probably is not quite as common.

Oh and our Cindy and the actress Cindy also attempted the famous opening to Laverne and Shirley's. You know the little diddy of 'Schlemiel, Schlimazel, Hassenpfeffer Incorporated. According to NewsCenter

...schlemiel is Yiddish for a clumsy person, Schlimazel is an unlucky person, and a Hassenpfeffer is a German rabbit stew - so basically, it makes no sense.

According to our Cindy...the play is really funny.
