You may notice that some railroad crossings in Maine have medians on either side of the crossing. They may seem out of place, but there is a reason they are there.

If you are driving in the Lewiston-Auburn area and you approach a railroad crossing, you will want to slow down or you might end up doing some damage to your vehicle.

There are a lot of other little things about Lewiston that make it special to me. Here are five of those things that I absolutely love about Lewiston to this day.

The ride through the nearly 5 mile long tunnel through a mountain seems to go on forever.
