The original 'Pete's Dragon' is set in Maine. This one is not. In fact, this is not a remake, it's a whole new movie - but Movie Mom really liked it. 

Movie Mom says that the only thing similar to the original 'Pete's Dragon' to the new one, is that there is a boy named Pete and a dragon named Elliot. She says it's more like 'Jungle Book' meets 'Free Willy'. But that being said, she thought it was spectacular.

She recommended 7 and up because of the intensity of the 3D filming.

And the other big movie out there is 'Sausage Party' with Seth Rogan.

Out on DVD is a movie with Tom Hanks that no one saw in the theater called, 'Hologram for the King'. Movie Mom really enjoyed that one.
