20 Things Mainers Say Maine Definitely Needs More of

We love this big beautiful state, but there's always room for improvement.

When Mainers were asked what the state needed more of, answers ranged from the serious to the silly, like dispensaries. I would say that was more of a commentary on the fact that the absolute last thing we need is more places to buy weed.

There were also the typical responses of less democrats, less republicans, less Joe Biden, less Donald Trump. Nope. Not going there. There is so much bickering online, that it's not helpful in the least bit.

But for you, how could your Maine life be even better? For some, it's a chain restaurant that maybe we don't have or don't have enough of. For others, it's the weather. Oh that last summer definitely challenged Mainer's love of this state. That rainy crappy summer was one for the books!

One of the more serious answers, and one that I didn't explore, was more treatment for the mentally ill. I was surprised at the number of people who thought that Maine needed more services in that area. That's such a serious topic, and I didn't think it was in good taste to put it in with other suggestions that were more light-hearted. But yes, Maine is in serious need of more mental health services. I think a lot of states are in that boat. It's been tough for a lot of people...
