Important Things You Need to Know if You’re Heading to Northern Maine for the Eclipse

Awww yeah, it's almost time. I'm excited for this eclipse, but I'm also very excited for it to be over, because things have been feeling OFF lately with no explanation. Astrology girls told me this was why.

What is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse happens when, at just the right moment, the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth.

Now that we've had that science lesson, the upcoming eclipse on April 8, 2024, is supposed to be a big one. Here's why, according to wildcenter.org,

On April 8, 2024,The Wild Center will be directly in the path of totality for a Total Solar Eclipse. This is not only an amazing sight but a rare occurrence. In fact, it will be the first time the Adirondacks have ever been in the direct path of totality, and after 2024 the United States will not see another total solar eclipse for over 20 years.

Even though this is going to be a really cool historical event for us to watch and witness, there's still some safety concerns that the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife want to make sure we're prepared about.
