Cue DJ Khaled: "Anotha' One."

It's starting to become too casual writing about awesome restaurants announcing their closure.

The next one up to close their doors for good in Portland, Maine, is Thistle & Grouse on Cotton Street.

This past weekend was the last time they were officially in business, and we hate to see them go.

For those of you who loved going to the old Rivalries, the bar that closed before Thistle & Grouse took over, you're probably wondering why this space is seeing such turnover. I can't answer that officially, but on T&G's Instagram page, they did provide their own reasons for closing their doors.

There were a number of hurdles for T&G, including a "remodel met with multiple delays and permitting hurdles, a terrible first winter full of flooded downtowns and snow, combined with a crippling inflation that made it nearly impossible to keep it together."

We're sad to see you go guys, but I think your time in the Portland community was well spent. I had many friends tell me they loved going to brunch at this spot, so huge shoutout to the chef's Bobby & Kim for holding the food scene to high standards in our city.

In their instagram post one thing stuck out to me the most.

"Portland welcomed us with open arms and the guest who came through our doors saw our vision and we are so grateful for your support. The kitchen staff loved when you came up to the window to thank us and it was nice to interact with you all"

I say this all the time, it's the local, genuine people who make our community as good as it feels.

So if anything right now, we are glad you were here for the time that you were!
