Ahhhh, twins. Double the fun. We tried to get both boys on the same page for their birthday party - but alas. One wanted Ninjago and one wanted Star Wars. Here we go!

First I should explain that the boys turned six back in March, but we were a little busy with a something called Disney. So, we picked this Saturday - and we combined the parties because we are insane! It was about 16 kids in all. Alden was the Ninjago party.

Jen (in all her glory) not only figured out Ninja inspired food, but also Ninja inspired games. My favorite was 'Find the Stuff in the Rice'. Subtitled, 'All While Spilling Rice Into Every Crack of the Wood Floor'. You know how you find Christmas tree needles in July? We will be finding long grain rice in December. There is no picture of this. Because I wasn't breathing well and seeing double.

But I did get pictures of some pretty neat stuff we stayed up way to late making. Like Ninja Balloons.

Then there was some fun food! Like Ninja pops! I made these. Those Ninja eyes are printables from Pinterest. Okay, that was like Japanese what I just wrote - but some craft-o-matic person out there gets it.

Then there is the ancient race of reptilians - Serpentine! Or as I like to say, eat your vegetables!

Guess what was the most UNpopular food at the party? Yup, the snake I ssssssslaved over.

And since it was an Asian flair with Ninjago, we had to have sushi! But what kid is gonna dive into raw fish if they wouldn't even touch the veggie snake? So we made FUN-sushi.

That would be Fun-Shi! It's a Rice Krispi treat, with a Swedish Fish on top then wrapped with fruit roll. I spent most of my time running all over God's great earth looking for grape fruit rolls. I could only find tie dye. Close enough and no kid mentioned that it was not an exact replica of seaweed. I was in charge of the Fun-Shi. (By the way, this was very popular and there are going to be a ton of 6 year olds who order sushi at a restaurant and freak when they aren't served a Rice Krispi treat!)

For drinks, we had on the Ninja side Spinjitzu Punch and on the Star Wars side Yoda Soda.

Any guesses what the actual drink is? Gatorade for both! Yoda Soda beat out Spinjitzu Punch in popularity. Which brings us to the Star Wars part of the party. Again, this is all from the mind of Jen - a crazed dedicated mother of all crafty moms! Ben wanted Star Wars. The food was easy on this end. It was all about the clever signs!

See how the food is so easy for Star Wars? Open container and pour. Or buy and put in container - it's true, I did not bake these!

I don't even know what these are?! It's true - I am NOT a Star Wars fan.

I mean I know what they are. They are cheese balls. I don't know what a thermal detonator is!

I think this is Darth Vader's Tie Fighter. But I'm not sure. That's the closest I could find in Google. All I know is that they were very hard, and Jen stayed up all night making them. I was sound asleep when this magic happened.

Of course everyone walked away with their own light saber. One mom admitted she learned something at our party. She always thought it was a life saver. Hey, you learn something new everyday. I learned what happened when you give 16 six year olds a homemade light saber!

That is a pool noodle cut in half and then decorated with duct tape and electrical tape. Yup, I found pool noodles in April.

Here's what happens when you hand them out!

This doesn't include the gang in the kitchen.

All in all, the party was a whopping success. But as with all parties, you always leave with a little something, right? Well, we just couldn't hand out bags of useless stuff, you had to play a game to get it! Jen saw this on Pinterest and made it! It's a standing pinata! You punch your little hand through the tissue paper and grab your goodies!

The kids had a blast, I think the parents were grateful for the time alone and I got most of the rice out of the wood floor. Oh wait! The cakes!

We did the cakes first before the 'poke your fist through the stand-up pinata'! They were so adorable. This was a lemon Ninjago cake for Alden.

And of course Ben had the Star Wars cake.

Everyone had a great time. I think the kids loved all the sugar and fun things. I think the parents (that dropped and left) were grateful for the alone time.

Next up? The 8 year old turns 9...and it's a girl party!
