WATCH: Powerful Song, Video About Aroostook County is Pure Maine Pride
You will want to be from 'the County' when you see this video!
WAGM-TV in Presque Isle shared on Facebook a video called, 'The County Our Home'. It's hitting home for anyone with a little 'county' in them.
Thousands have viewed the video, and some want this on their Spotify playlist. That's going to be tough, because it's only available on WAGM-TV's Facebook page and website.
The singer is Paul Childers out of Nashville, Tennessee. The music was produced by Stephen Arnold Music, and the lyrics were a collaboration between them and WAGM-TV. The song isn't available for download.
It took me over a decade before I had gone to 'the County' after moving to Maine. Once I saw the 'Welcome to Aroostook County' sign, there was something prideful that took over. There's no other place like the county, and if you were born there, no matter where in the world you end up, you will always tell people that you were born there!
Full Discloser:
Where I have been in 'the county', some people say doesn't actually count. We know there are two Maines, but maybe there are three. I bought a camp up in 'the county' a few years back in a town called Weston, Maine. But it's JUST over the county line.
Technically, it is full-on Aroostook County! But as you notice, it's pretty close to the border, and there's another good three-hour drive to get to the real county of Presque Isle and Madawaska.
Even if I'm cheating, I still have pride in being connected to the county.
