I'm so excited that a pinball video has gone viral! It seems it takes a ball doing some pretty impressive things to make that happen.

Someone was playing on the 1984 game Af-Tor at the Michigan Pinball Expo going on this weekend. He managed to get a ball stuck perfectly between a pop bumper and a kicker. These are two devices on a pinball machine that push the ball away when it comes in contact with them while awarding the player points.

Since the ball was essentially being tossed back and forth between the bumper and kicker, he was able to rack up never ending points. Never ending until the electrical coils that trigger the bumper and kicker burn out. I'm going to assume he shook the game to get the ball loose before that happened.

This actually is a lot more common than you'd think. In the weekly New England Pinball League that I play in, there's a machine at my friends house in Gorham called Hot Doggin' that has a habit of doing the same thing. It's an unwritten rule that you must shake the machine to free it so that you don't run up an unfair score on your opponent or burn out my friend's coil!

So if this ever should happen to you playing pinball, remember: Friends don't let friends pinball machines catch on fire.
