Webcam Wednesday: Watch Gray Seals Just Chillin’ In The Sun On Seal Island Of The Coast Of Maine [LIVE VIDEO]
Explore Oceans is a great YouTube page to see the world without leaving your house. They have live webcams all over the place usually running 24/7. Sometimes they will stop the broadcast briefly to show you highlights from the cam you are watching.
This webcam is located on Seal Island, a 65 acre island 21 miles off the coast of Rockland once used by the U.S. Navy as a bombing target from the 1940s until the early 1960s. Now it's a National Wildlife Refuge, safe for puffins to rest and mate in the early spring, and now a safe haven for gray seals to lounge and soak up the sun during the summer.
