Yelp Crowns This Seasonal Favorite as Maine’s No. 1 Ice Cream Spot

Summer really is the perfect time for ice cream.

This amazing treat is a surefire way to keep cool when the sun is blazing down, and thankfully, Maine has a ton of great places to get a scoop or two.

Yelp's ranking of the top 100 ice cream places in the U.S. landed one seasonal spot in particular as the best in the Pine Tree State.

Best Ice Cream in Maine

Let's just note that Yelp's best of the best ice cream list came out in 2023. It seems surprising not to do a 2025 list, what with all the ice cream fans out there, but regardless, it certainly doesn't take away from the top dogs of deliciousness on the most recent list.

In fact, three Maine places were recognized.

That would be two in Portland and one in Bar Harbor.

The Travelin Lobster, Bar Harbor, Maine

Yelp's ice cream crown jewel of Maine is The Travelin Lobster in Bar Harbor. It landed at No. 43 on the list of 100.

This restaurant serves up scoops of its novelty ice cream, which you'll likely want after that lobster roll you decide to get there.

That's right, The Travelin Lobster isn't just some ice cream shop but a seasonal seafood spot that's family-owned and operated. Oh, and it's been around for decades.

A number of people on Yelp have even recommended the blueberry pie with ice cream if you were debating what to get.
