Does Size Matter?

As I get ready to not be caught without enough firewood this season, I am curious - does size matter?

You see, there are apparently choices. The first couple of years I got firewood that was (I think) 12 inches. But last year it was 16 (again, I think). I have a standard size wood stove. Nothing fancy, nothing huge. I was just curious...does size matter?
