Good News: Mainers Won’t Get Rejected At The Airport
Maine is compliant with the federal REAL ID Act as of today, according to WMTW. Governor LePage signed a bill that will bring Maine into compliance with the federal law. Otherwise, Maine residents would not have been able to use their driver's licenses to board flights at the airport.
What does this mean to people who have old ID cards? As per WMTW, LePage said those residents will be extended a waiver to allow them to continue using non-compliant ID cards past the date of January, 2018.
