Homeless Outreach Helps Mainers Anticipating a Rough Winter
As temps cool and we wave a sad goodbye to summer, some are anticipating worse realities than no more outdoor happy hours. Families and individuals struggling to make ends meet as winter approaches are between a rock and a hard place, often having to choose between food, health, and housing.
Western Maine Homeless Outreach in Farmington, Maine is doing their part to aid is currently seeking donations to continue shelter operations. People can sponsor a family or a single individual, or simply donate to provide a care package for a transitioning family. Western Maine Homeless Outreach is a small 16-bed, non-profit family shelter.
As we watch the devastation from Hurricane Dorian in southern states, or pass by panhandlers right here in Maine, it's easy to get bogged down with the more depressing news cycle.
