Popular Maine Restaurant Brings Back Buffet After 5-Year Hiatus
It took a global pandemic for many of us to realize that they were a handful of things that we really took for granted. One of those things was buffets, a chance to sample and devour a variety of different foods for one set price.
Many restaurants throughout Maine that once offered buffet service got rid of it when the pandemic hit. And the majority of those restaurants have reversed their stance since things have turned back to normal. But not all restaurants.
The Taste of Maine restaurant in Woolwich has decided to bring back their Sunday for the last several weeks before they close for the season. The Sunday buffets take place from 11:30a until 3:00pm.
The cost is $32.99 for adults, $29.99 for seniors, $16,99 for children 12 and under and children 4 and under can enjoy the buffet for free.
Items as part of the buffet are subject to change from Sunday to Sunday but the Taste of Maine has offered everything from salads and homemade soups to bigger items like baked stuffed haddock, baked ham and snow crab legs.
Once upon a time, it wasn't all that difficult to find a buffet in Maine. Through much of the 80's and 90's, buffet restaurants were some of the most popular places to eat throughout the state.
These days, some buffets still exist but they are a little bit more challenging to find. The largest buffet in Maine can be found in South Portland near the Maine Mall. That would be Umi Sushi & Seafood, which promises a series of authentic Japanese dishes and more.
