Japanese Kit Kats Kick American Kit Kat’s Butt

Robin, of Robin's Confections in Biddeford, has a friend Marsha. Marsha lives in Japan and came back to Maine with Japanese Kit Kats!

These are wild! There are flavors like lemon, grape, green tea, peach mint, apple pie..the list goes on and on. Why Japan went nuts with an American icon candy like Kit Kat, we may never know - but the flavors are wild!

Here in the good ol' U.S. of A. we have the chocolate Kit Kat.

Boooooorrrrring. Although someone did point out that there is also a white chocolate Kit Kat. Way to branch out America!

Robin's friend Marsha lives in Japan and was visiting and brought us a bunch to try. One of the most popular flavored Kit Kats is green tea flavor. I personally thought it tasted like grass clippings. I very much enjoyed the strawberry and even liked the apple pie. One thing about all Japanese treats, they are less sweet. I like that.

But Robin can't be out done by a bunch of Nestle candy, and since she does have her own candy store - she brought in some of her handmade chocolates! She's got cute way over Japan!

Chocolate dipped Oreos, Nutter Butters, the sweet Frankenstein is a Swiss Roll, and of course the delicious homemade fudge!
