This is some big news! American Idol star and Mainer Julia Gagnon will perform at this year's Moxie Festival on Saturday, July 13.

In case you've been living under a rock for the last few months, Julia Gagnon from Cumberland, Maine, made it past thousands of other singers auditioning for a spot on American Idol. Unfortunately, Julia didn't make it past the Top 7, but getting that far has put her in the national spotlight, and deservedly so.

Now that Julia is home, she's going to perform for her Maine fans at the Moxie Festival, the annual event in Lisbon, Maine, celebrating Moxie soda. It's the official beverage of the State of Maine, but it's an acquired taste for many people. I'm not one of those people who has acquired it, but I still try it once a year around Moxie Festival time to remind myself that I'm not a fan. It doesn't matter if you like Moxie or not, you'll have a great time.

The Moxie Festival has a pretty decent lineup of musical acts, including The Mallett Brothers Band. Julia will take the stage at MTM Community Center Park, bordered by School Street, Addison Street, Campus Street, and Berry Avenue. It won't be hard to find. Just follow the crowds of people.

She's set to take the stage at 1:30 on Saturday, July 13.

What next for Julia?  She announced last week on her Facebook page that she will be releasing her first single soon.

We can't wait for JULIA's new single and to see her perform at this year's Moxie Festival.
