You asked for it, so here it is.

But first some context for such a weird story. Why in God's name is Lori Voornas (me) putting online a picture of myself in a bikini from the 90s? Great question. It's all to raise money.

Where did this picture come from?

I remember going to Atlantic City with friends for a fun crazy weekend. The hotel room had a balcony, and I dragged out cushions to get some sun. My friends thought I was crazy. I guess I was a little crazy. So they snapped this photo of me. But it's the actual photo that I found recently that has me flabbergasted. I looked pretty darn good! I mean, I haven't worn a bikini for about 30 years now, so I had to be in my late 20s or early 30s for this picture.

Back to the 'why' I'm doing this. During the 22nd annual Cans for a Cure, we were trying to get to $100,000 for a total. I said I would put up a picture of me in a bikini if we raised $10,000 for the cause. Well, we got a few thousand - a bit shy of the goal. But it seems unfair to not give those who gave to such a good cause a little peak. So here it is. Lori Voornas in a bikini circa 1995 (ish).

I may have also been a smoker then. Ahhh, how times have changed, and well - so do bodies. It's nice to know I looked like that at one point in time. It's funny, but I never really thought of myself as good-looking...but wowzer, I was rocking that bikini. Hope it was worth your donation. If you would like to make another donation to the Maine Cancer Foundation, feel free to do so here.
