Check Out These Magical Benches Hidden in This Popular Portland Trail
This is kind of like the adult version of finding a "treasure" in the woods as a kid. If you're ever wondering if you'll ever feel that kind of excitement again as you did when you were little, this cute little tree bench area in the woods can reassure you that you can.
One of my dog's favorite places to romp around is a place you may have heard of before called Baxter Woods in Portland, Maine. It trails through my favorite part of Portland, the outskirts near Brentwood St. You also might recognize the famous Quality Shop that has been the neighborhood convenient store for many years and serves as a staple to most surrounding neighborhoods.
Anyway, the other day I came across a part of the trail I've never really seen before, and it's most likely probably because I stay more towards the opposite side of the trails. This time my pup ran out in front of me and as I followed him I came across the coolest little circle of benches nailed to the ground and completely made of tree trunks. They weren't your typical bench, they were sanded down, open faced tree trunks but held together by screws.
It looks like it's used for group meets or something cool considering it's all cleared out from brush and such. It's a great place to bring lunch and have a picnic, or to take a phone call in private honestly! Go find it!
