Bar Harbor, Maine

I friggen adore Bar Harbor. Right on the coast this little town makes you feel like you're walking around a fairy tale movie and you're staring in it. I mean, I could do without the seagulls, but if you're going to live or visit Maine you better be prepared for the sky rats.

Mount Desert Island

Actually, did you know that this adorable, old-fashioned town also hugs the edge of the largest island in Maine? The rocks are absolutely incredible to witness on the shore line especially on a warm summer night.

Are you starting to understand why Bar Harbor could easily be mistaken for a Hallmark Movie set?

It’s the kind of place where your biggest decisions will be: “hike a mountain or eat more clam chowder?” and, “do I need a fourth souvenir hoodie with a moose on it or is my husband going to get mad?”

Acadia National Park

Oh, not to mention Bar Harbor ALSO borders Acadia National Park right next door which is basically a nature lover's theme park. Tourists travel insane distances to hike one of the trails with their doggos (mine loves it).

Point of view? You can hike, bike, kayak, or just sit on a rock and feel majestic. Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain? Highly recommended, but bring coffee. Like, a lot of coffee.

Downtown Bar Harbor is filled with quirky shops, ice cream parlors, and people trying to figure out if they’re pronouncing it “Bah Hahbah” correctly (they’re not, but A for effort).

So whether you're here for the views, the seafood, or just trying to pet every dog on the street (spoiler: you can), Bar Harbor’s got a little magic and a lot of charm. Pack your yoga's girlies, you're gonna need them!
