NO, PLEASE NO! I can't let this one happen. I think I speak for all of us here in Maine when I say I'm so sick of establishments that we love and are a part of our daily routine closing down. I mean come on, where else can you find a homemade bagel shop that's also a drive-thru?

Alright, so the news comes from mainebagel.com, where they've officially given their statement about closing their doors this November. Aside from me wanting to cry while writing this, at least I know that they've served such a big roll in many of our lives in their two decades in Scarborough. Here's what we know so far based off of the message the owners posted at mainebagel.com.

"Due to circumstances beyond our control we are obligated to vacate the building that has given our family so many wonderful memories. We have been blessed with employees and customers that have allowed our dream to come to fruition.

We set out with a vision to provide the community with a bagel shop that prided itself on service, quality, and value. We believe we achieved this and in the process gained many friendships that we will cherish forever.

Our family would like to thank our hard working staff, vendors, first responders, and patrons. Without the support staff and customers who gave us a reason to get up early every week we would not have had the success that allowed us to serve good food and friendly smiles for this long."
