Mainers, Should Food Stamps Pay for Pet Food? [POLL]

According to WMTW.com, there's a national petition called "Don't Let Pets Starve" that would allow pet food to be bought with food stamps. Right now people have to pay out of pocket for pet food and when financial situations change quickly, some families are forced to give up their beloved pets. One hundred thousand signatures will be presented to the USDA.

Some people feel that pets are a luxury that should not be covered by food stamps, others feel that they are family members.
