Market Basket Plays Games with Our Hearts with ‘More for Your Dollar’ Mix CD

There was a meme circulating recently that really spoke to me. It said something along the lines of:

Me in my 20s: This club is playing my song!

Me in my 30's: This radio station is playing my song!

Me in my 40's: This grocery store is playing my song!

If Market Basket is your grocer of choice, chances are high you have found yourself in the produce department belting Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" at the top of your lungs while simultaneously feeling up avocadoes. There is absolutely no shame in it; we've all be there. The MB has a fire playlist and they know it, which is why they pulled the ultimate prank on all of us a few weeks ago.

Behold: the "More for your Dollar" mixtape. But before you get your hopes up...it was an April Fools joke:

The internet just about lost it's proverbial marbles! As you can see, the post got over 1,700 likes and some folks started placing orders and giving their addresses, all to find out they were on the receiving end of a genius April Fools joke.

But it's not all a big fat lie

Market Basket actually has a Spotify page that you can follow, with curated playlists filled with songs you might hear as your peruse down their aisles.
