New Hampshire Woman Saved an Injured Baby Skunk and Named Him Cosmo
It is clear Terri Talas is a kind and compassionate person who's empathy knows no bounds. Terri even finds love in her heart for skunks who tend to get a bad reputation. Terri says "they are often misunderstood". We could all learn a thing or two from Terri.
A few days ago Terri discovered a baby skunk in her yard who was clearly struggling. The sun was beaming down, it was one of those unbearably hot days we've had lots of lately. The skunk was unable to move it's back legs and Terri wanted to move him out of the hot sun.
Fun Fact: Terri said skunks are unable to spray unless they are standing so she knew she wouldn't be at risk of being skunkified (I realize that is not a real term but thank you spell check for trying to help)
Terri put this poor creature into a cat carrier and brought him into her house. The skunk did not put up a fight.
Per the most recent update from Terri, It has been confirmed their new friend is a 3-4 month old male. They affectionately named him Cosmo which means decency and beauty. Cosmo made it through the night and is now resting comfortably at the Millstone Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Windham, New Hampshire. There are no wounds so it appears to be a neurological issue. He is being fed liquids through a syringe.
Way to go, Terri, for getting this sweet guy in the right hands. Hopefully he will make a full recovery.
