Portland High Schooler Named Google Logo Finalist
Have you ever traded your doodle for a new laptop and swag? Will Gordon did just that this week when he was selected as the Maine state winner in Google's national logo contest, "Doodle 4 Google," according to the Press Herald. His whimsical artwork featured Google's name formed in trees under a colorful, starlit sky.
As Maine's finalist, Will received a Chromebook, Google bag and tee shirt. That's not all the contest has to offer. Now, he's in the running for a $30,000 college scholarship!
Will is no casual doodler. He recently transferred from Cheverus High School to Portland to take advantage of its art program. The Press Herald reports that he's also working on a children's book about a bear going after some honey, highlighting the value of "try, try again".
