Q Court: ‘Jane’ Wants to Know – How Young is Too Young to Have a Phone? [POLL]

'Jane' noticed that a lot of her 9-year-old's classmates have cellphones! She thinks this is way too young, but is feeling the pressure. Can you help 'Jane' with our poll?

I know it's an issue in our house, and it's an issue for 'Jane' - how young is too young for a phone? Here's her letter:

Dear Q Court. My daughter is 9-years-old and does not have a phone. She has access to an iPad, and a kindle, but she does not text or call. I feel she is too young.

But a lot of her classmates DO have phones and do text and do call! I am starting to feel the pressure, but I seriously want to wait until she is a teenager.

I have looked at research and I can't figure it out. I am going by my instincts and guts..and well, apparently Q Court. Can you ask your audience what they think?
