One of the World’s Most Famous Flight Teams Is Coming to Maine for a Rare US Appearance

It's been two years since the last Great State of Maine Air Show, and this 2026 return is shaping up to be a big one.

Not only will you get to see numerous performances in the sky, including the lead act that is the Blue Angels, but the air show has recently revealed a brand new addition to look forward to.

The world-renowned Red Arrows from the UK will be visiting Brunswick, Maine, in July 2026.

Who are the RAF Red Arrows?

I've certainly heard of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds when it comes to flight demonstration squads, but (and cover your ears, aviation enthusiasts) my knowledge is certainly lacking when it comes to the RAF Red Arrows.

Turns out, according to the Royal Air Force's website, the Red Arrows are one of the top-tier aerobatic display teams in the world.

The Red Arrows, which have been around for over 60 years and performed over 5,000 times, features a team of pilots "flying distinctive Hawk fast-jets," engineers and support staff with frontline experience, the RAF website states.

They also happen to rarely come to the U.S., mostly performing in Europe, so it's a pretty big get for them to appear in the Great State of Maine Air Show.

AVWeb noted the last visit to the United States was in 2019, and this 2026 trip will include stops in Maryland, New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, and the only New England state: Maine.

When Is the Great State of Maine Air Show in 2026?

The Great State of Maine Air Show will be back on July 11 and 12, 2026, and will once again take place at the Brunswick Executive Airport.

The Navy-based Blue Angels will be front and center in their blue and yellow F/A-18 Super Hornets, along with a number of other high-flying acts.
