Scarborough Kiwanis Club 36th Annual Free Kids Fishing Derby May 6
If your kid likes fishing and prizes, then you won't want to miss this.
The Scarborough Kiwanis Club is hosting the 35th Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Bayley's Camping Resort at 275 Pine Point Road in Scarbrough.
Kiwanis International is a service club that has been around since 1915 and has 600,000 members throughout the world that serve their communities by volunteering and raising money for charitable causes. The annual fishing derby is a great community event to help those in the area and get some great fishing in.
It is free for kids ages 4-15 with two different ponds for trout catch and keep trout fishing and bass catch and release fishing. There will be prizes awarded based on age, so stick around, because you must be present to win.
All kids need to have an adult with them and you are encouraged to help stock the food pantry in Scarborough with a non-perishable canned food donation. Speaking of food, you know your kids will blow through the snacks you packed for the fishing derby, but lucky for you there will be snacks and beverages available to buy. Plus, free t-shirts for kids 4-15 while supplies last.
This is a live bait fishing derby so if you don't have your own bait, worms will be available for sale too. And of course, don't forget your fishing pole.
