The Only Place in Maine to Get Gas Under $4 is in Buxton
Can you believe there are lines because gas is just below four dollars a gallon?
WGME13 went to Panda Market in Buxton and found that people were elated to find gas under not just $5 but below $4!
As Mal Meyer from WGME reports, it's not only cheap for Buxton, it's the cheapest gas in Maine according to GasBuddy. Right now as of Sunday, July 16 around 5 pm it's at $3.96.
The trend is that gas prices are going down. But trying to predict gas prices is like predicting the stock market. Powers far greater than us are pulling these strings. We're just the poor slobs who have to deal with it. But at $3.96, that's about .80 cents a gallon less than the average in Maine of $4.74. You definitely will feel that when filling up.
There were long lines and Panda Market was encouraging patience. WGME reporter Mal Meyers said that most people were taking the long lines in stride, although he did see someone get testy when a car tried to cut the line.
Is it worth a trip to Buxton? Maybe. Heck, the food at Panda Market looks well worth the trip. This isn't just a gas station. According to their website, they are Buxton's most acclaimed gas station/restaurant. I'll second that! Thanks for cutting Mainers a break with your gas prices. I don't know how you can do it, but no one else seems able to. But then again, they aren't Panda Market.
