What the Hell Was Parked Behind Me?

I had to stop the nice family and ask...what is that?

I thought maybe it was a Delorean - you know, the 'Back to the Future' car. But no. It's even fancier than that...a Tesla!

This thing was parked right behind me! I asked the stupid question of...what is that? It's  Tesla.

Of course I have heard of Tesla, but not really sure exactly what it is. From their website,

Tesla was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that people didn’t need to compromise to drive electric – that electric vehicles can be better, quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars. Today, Tesla builds not only all-electric vehicles but also infinitely scalable clean energy generation and storage products. I have seen a Tesla, but only on TV! This sweet family was pouring out of theirs. They were not Mainers. They were from Austin, Texas (I had thought they said Boston...oops).

I had mentioned how this was the very first Tesla I had seen in person. Apparently I am way behind! Lots of people have seen Teslas...and reports are up in the Oxford Hills area. Wha?

Well, if you see a car and the doors are up like wings - it could be a Tesla!
