Disney out does all the other movies with 'Born in China'...we're talking baby pandas!

I think Movie Mom mentioned baby panda at least half a dozen times in describing this beautiful and touching Disneynature documentary filmed in China. It's gorgeous, and stunning...and did we mention, baby pandas?!

Then there are a couple of epic movies set in the World War II era. The first is 'Lost City of Z'. A true-life drama, centering on British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett, who disappeared while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon in the 1920s.Any swashbuckling character (think Indiana Jones) is based on this real life person. Movie Mom enjoyed this movie very much.

Then another movie with loss, love, betrayal and epicness is 'The Promise'. Set during the last days of the Ottoman Empire, 'The Promise' follows a love triangle between Michael, a brilliant medical student, the beautiful and sophisticated Ana, and Chris - a renowned American journalist based in Paris.

Again, well done - but for Movie Mom, the pick of the week is 'Born in China'. Did we mention the baby pandas?

Also out on DVD is 'The Founder' the true story of the origins of McDonalds starring Michael Keaton.

Sidenote: Want a great fun movie where Michael Keaton is a scary bad guy? Check out 'Pacific Heights'. Sooooo good.
