The community in Lisbon is trying to save one of their businesses from closing shop.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Tara Kieger, the owner of Sweet Cakes Bake Shop. As we all know, COVID-19 has made owning a business very trying right now. Sadly not all businesses will make it. But Lisbon is trying to save one that just needs a little help.

Tara graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a pastry degree and opened her shop less than two years ago. Lisbon loves Sweet Cakes Bake Shop, and Tara who helps out the community as much as she can.

She has donated cookies for the lunch bags going out to students, and when everything shutdown, Tara sold dry goods that people couldn't find in stores. She is trying to hold onto her business, but balancing motherhood when schools were closed, and Covid restrictions, she can’t be open five days a week.  The shop is currently open two days a week. Then her refrigerator died and she lost $5,000 worth of supplies.

That may not seem like a lot of money to some businesses, but with her shortened week, and restrictions - she is not making what she used to and 5,000 dollars becomes a much bigger hurdle to overcome. She's still baking and working hard and Lisbon would like to help her over the hurdle. If you can help, I know there's a pastry chef in Lisbon, and a whole community that would be very appreciative.
