It Doesn’t Get More Maine Than This: Flannel Day at Hadlock
Going to a Portland Sea Dogs game is so much fun. All the sights and sounds, all the delicious foods and drinks, rooting on the home team to win. Not to mention all the promotions that they do at games. Star Wars Night is a big crowd pleaser. And any bobble head giveaway night is usually a big draw.
Speaking of bobbleheads the Sea Dogs will be giving away Maine Superstar and life long runner Joan Benoit Samuelson bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans through the gates on May 15th.
Saturday afternoon's game is as Maine as they get though. It's flannel day at Hadlock! The Sea Dogs are asking everyone who attends the game to don their favorite flannel apparel as the boys of summer take on the Trenton Thunder at 1pm.
The day includes a flannel fashion show where, if you want, you can show off your flannel flair with a pre game walk around the field. If you'd like to participate they're asking that you arrive at Hadlock by noon, all flanneled up! Prizes will be awarded for "Most Flannel" "Most Shirts Worn" and "Best Overall."
And if you've ever wanted to learn how to throw an axe, they've got you covered on that too with free lessons and throws for the fans from 11:30-1pm.
