Who doesn't love deep-fried golden brown french fries?  Nobody.  But not all french fries are created equal.

Some are soft and mushy and not fried nearly enough, others are over fried and way too crispy to the point of almost being burnt.  Neither of these would rank as the world's greatest french fry.

In the state of New Hampshire, there are many restaurants and fast food establishments to get your fill of those all-American classics.  However, there's one place you can count on for delicious french fries. Not only french fries, but the signature dish of chicken tenders with a side of equally-famous fries.  We are talking about the 106-year-old Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire.

LoveFood recently came out with a list of best french fries in each state, and New Hampshire's Puritan came out on top.  The OG place to go is still on top.  In fact, they had so many orders for Christmas Eve this year, they had to halt take-out orders.

According to puritanbackroom.com, the restaurant started as a candy store in 1917, and expanded to a restaurant two years later.  It's been family run throughout the years, which is another reason why the restaurant is so beloved.

The Puritan Backroom also offers chicken tender parmigiana (like chicken parm), but with their famous tenders instead. Sounds delicious.
