Whether you play the lottery games occasionally or regularly, your odds are the same.

If you play the same numbers every time, your odds are the same too.

However, believe it or not, there are some numbers you could pick which just are not "lucky" numbers.  There's a new survey out from justgamblers.com which reveals the least drawn numbers in the following lottery games: Lucky For Life, Powerball, Mega Millions, The Big Game, and Hot Lotto.

New Hampshire and Vermont participate in Powerball, Mega Millions, Megabucks, and Lucy For Life.  Maine participates in all of these games, plus Lotto America, while Massachusetts only has Powerball and Mega Millions on the multi-state scale.

The results of the survey took the five lottery games and looked at the most winning and losing numbers in America.

The result were interesting, as the 40-something numbers didn't do so well.

The unluckiest number in these jackpots is 47, followed by 46, then 43, 41, and 44.  So all of the unluckiest numbers are in the 40's, which is interesting.

So now you are wondering what the luckiest numbers in America are when it comes to the lottery, right?   Ok, here's how it went down.

The luckiest number you can play in the lottery system in America is 28, followed by 16, then 39, 32, and 15.  As a caveat, keep in mind the survey took these five games into account, but not all the New England states participate in all five games.

It seems the law of averages might be at work here, so if you do play the lottery in whatever state you are in, understand the odds are still not in your favor. But it sure is fun to dream.
