Maine Med Warning Patients Of Possible Chicken Pox Exposure
If you of someone you know had to make a visit to the emergency department at Maine Medical Center on July 30th you my have been exposed to the virus that causes chicken pox, according to an article from the Associated Press.
Especially if the visit was between 9am and 2pm on that Tuesday in late July.
The symptoms include an itchy rash and a fever that usually will occur around 10-21 days after exposure, the article reports.
Officials at Maine Med say people should contact their doctor if you believe you've been exposed to the virus. The article reminds people that if you've been vaccinated or have already had chicken pox you're most likely immune to the airborne disease, but if symptoms should show up don't delay in contacting your doctor.
