My Favorite Streets in Portland – And My LEAST Favorite [PICS]
I don't know if I'm the only person in Maine who has favorite streets...but I do - and I thought I would share them with you. Lucky you!
My absolute favorite is the Eastern Prom. It could be the views, or the trees or the amazing huge mansions. Or the fact that it was my backyard for 14 years. The thing I love most is the spring, when the leaves just pop. They are a bright light green for only about a week and they are gorgeous.
Then I fell in love with Neal Street on the West End when I lived on the West End.
I think it was because of the old school brownstones that line part of the street.
In fact, that's part of why I also love Park Street. And it's Park Street...NOT Park Avenue. Big difference.
You know what else I love about Park Street? If you take a left at the intersection you see on the left next week...you'll be smack in the middle of the Greek Festival.
And more cool brownstones!
And now for the worst street in Portland. Well, in my humble opinion. Any guesses? I'll give you a hint. It's actually not a street - it's a corner. Guess before you look!
Can you tell what it is? Yup. Morrill's Corner. Ugh. The whole Forest Avenue is a cluster - and it turns remarkably into Route 302 which is an even bigger cluster.
Again, I have no idea if people have favorite streets. But I'd bet a paycheck that EVERYONE has a least favorite. What's yours?
