NH Beachgoer Fined $124 For Assaulting Federally-Protected Seagull That Stole His Lunch
This is a weird ending to a weird story. A man who says that he accidentally assaulted a seagull on a New Hampshire beach this summer was just fined $124 for the affair.
WMTW is reporting that Nate Rancloes will pay the fine after kicking a seagull on the beach earlier this year.
WMTW and NH1 said that Rancoles had just returned from getting lunch - a cheeseburger and fries - to find a seagull was in the process of nabbing his food. He claims that he spun around, and accidentally kicked the animal as he was attempting to shoo it away. Other witnesses saw him kick the bird and alerted authorities.
Turns out, seagulls are actually federally protected animals. Yes... the rats with wings! Who knew?
