Pizza Franchise Celebrating 80 Years Only Has Two Maine Locations
To not only exist for 80 years, let alone spread across the country, not only do you have to have an amazing product, but also a stellar business mind.
And, it's safe to say, that in celebrating its 8th decade of existence this year, Pizzeria Uno has perfected the secret sauce.
Pizzeria Uno 80 Years
Uno may have started its journey in Chicago, Illinois, back in 1943, but it was in 1978, according to an Uno's press release, when it was introduced here in New England after a businessman named Aaron Spencer purchased the franchise rights to the restaurant and brand.
Since then, multiple Uno's locations have popped up throughout New England, with some closing but others continuing to be a main stay. Currently, according to the press release, there are 22 locations throughout New England, most of which are in Massachusetts.
But two locations remain in Maine.
Unos South Portland
Located at the Maine Mall in South Portland, the Uno at 280 Maine Mall Road is absolute fire when it comes to good food, good service, and honestly, a stellar bar. You'll find a mixture of national beers as well as local crafts, and some fun cocktails in between.
Unos Bangor
Located a bit of a ride further north from the SoPo location is the second Uno location in Maine up in Bangor. You'll also find this location at a mall, since its at the Bangor Mall at 725 Stillwater Avenue. This location is pretty much identical to the SoPo one, as far as offering local crafts, national beers, and cocktails on top of delicious food.
Pizzeria Uno Contests
The cool thing about Uno turning 80 is the fact they're celebrating by holding a series of events, contests, and promotions, which could land customers not only with free pizza for a year, but also something as cool as a free trip to Chicago and dinner at the original Uno location.
More will be posted about the upcoming contests on the Pizzeria Uno instagram.
