Notorious Maine Rapper and Brewery Announce New Album and Beer Collaboration
It's a collaboration that's been almost two decades in the making.
Bissell Brothers, Portland, Maine
Having recently celebrated their 10th anniversary last week, according to their official website, Bissell Brothers was the brainchild of brothers Noah and Peter Bissell, who respectively had huge interests in homebrewing beer and entrepreneurship, and opened one of Maine's most popular breweries in 2013.
Spose
"Allegedly a rapper from Maine" (and that's according to the bio on his Instagram page), Spose has been a force in Maine since releasing his first-ever album, Preposterously Dank, back in 2008 -- a debut album that he released himself.
Since then (and even beforehand), Spose hasn't stopped blazing paths, dropping more albums, getting signed by record labels and leaving, and just continuing along a massive path to success while never forgetting his Maine roots.
What Could Go Wrong?
On December 13, 2023, a collaboration between Spose and Bissell Brothers was announced, with a new offering from Bissell Brothers and a new album from Spose sharing the same name -- What Could Go Wrong?
The collab, according to both Bissell Brothers and Spose, was 17 years in the making, with Spose having interactions with future Bissell Brothers employees and Peter Bissell himself since writing Preposterously Dank while still working at Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit back in 2006.
According to the Bissell Brothers Instagram page, the raspberry-infused What Could Go Wrong? IPA is available at both locations now, and according to Spose's Instagram page, the album version of What Could Go Wrong? drops on February 15.
