This is strictly opinion based after 9 years living in Maine, but here are the top 3 words that happen to all be town names that I've noticed are always mispronounced by out-of-stater's.

It never fails. Anytime a traffic light in Maine isn't functioning (usually due to a power outage or line down), drivers have no idea what to do.
