South Portland High School's football team is making headlines once again after the team was forced to forfeit a quarterfinal game against Bonny Eagle because of too many injuries on the Red Riots.

According to a story on WMTW.com, Todd Livingston, the South Portland athletic director has announced Steve Stinson, who was the coach for 14 years and led the Red Riots to 7 playoff appearances, has resigned.

The article reports that Steve has decided to spend his time and invest his energy in other endeavors. He continued by saying "I want to once again express my appreciation for 14 awesome years as a head coach. I feel fortunate to have been given the chance and blessed to have been able to work with such outstanding players, parents, coaches, teachers and administrators throughout my tenure."

The search for a new Red Riots coach is on.
