Okay, living in Maine really pays off for every season. Christmas season though? Christmas just hits different in Maine compared to anywhere else (in my opinion).

It also seems to be the opinion of mix book.com, as they've nationally recognized not one, but TWO cities from Maine on their list of America's favorite 'Christmassy' Towns. I gotta say, well done. I agree with both submissions (well, kinda).

Kennebunkport comes first, ranking #14 out of 75 submissions (not bad). I will say, every Christmas my friends and I romp around this little town because of the atmosphere it creates around the holidays. This year, Christmas Prelude shot off fireworks over the ocean while everyone sipped on their holiday-themed cocktails. A true beaut of a time.

Rockland is up next as the 48th ranked most 'Christmassy' towns. I'm going to agree to disagree with this one. I think Boothbay Harbor, Maine, should have ranked on this list, considering it was mentioned on the 12 Best Christmas towns you must visit, as told by VisitMaine.

Those millions of insanely cool twinkling Christmas lights you see all over Instagram? That's actually called the Botanical Light Show that Boothbay Harbor sets up every winter for you. Personally, I'd have to say that deserves more of an honorable mention on the national list over Rockland, but who am I to judge? Rockland is also beautiful, I just wanted to give some more credit where more credit is due.
