I was excited and nervous all at the same time when Danny Cashman, host of the locally-produced The Nite Show, invited me to be a guest host during two tapings in Westbrook.

I had done TV previously when I hosted a kids game show called "Kickstart." It was goofy and fun and I had a great time, but for the most part, I hosted off the cuff, and pretty much winging it.

The Nite Show with Danny Cashman is a completely different beast. It's a late-night talk show usually produced in Bangor, but this time, it came to the Westbrook Performing Arts Center to tape two shows in Southern Maine.

The turnout was great so that just made me even more nervous.

Singer and songwriter Paula Cole was our guest for the first show. She was probably a big draw since she would be performing songs from her new album, "Lo". She was amazing.

That's me on the right with Dan and Paula. See the nervous look?

Did I make a few screw-ups? Yep. But I think they were minor, and if I'm lucky, you may not even notice them.

After the nerves calmed, things went great and I had a blast.
