Maine’s Julia Gagnon needs your help tonight to become the next American Idol winner.

21-year-old Julia Gagnon wowed the judges during the audition phase of American Idol to the point of winning a platinum ticket. This means that the 21-year-old college student from Cumberland, Maine, got to skip right to the singing competition, which starts tonight, Sunday, April 7. This is where Julia needs us to vote to get her to the top 20!

Tonight is the first time you can vote for your favorite! I don't care if she sings the menu to "Buffalo Wings and Things", I'm voting for her! She got to the top 24 quickly. First, a platinum ticket, then wowing the judges (Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan) again with "And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going" from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. American Idol now moves to a Disney spa and resort in Hawaii! Not a bad gig if you can get it!

How can I vote for Mainer Julia Gagnon?

Voting starts tonight with the show at 8 p.m. Sunday. If you are dedicated, you can vote up to 30 times for a contestant (Julia); 10 times online, 10 on the American Idol app, or text your vote 10 times. Voting ends at six in the morning the following day. For Julia, that means 6 a.m. Monday, April 8. Julia will be with 11 other contestants tonight, and the rest perform on Monday, April 8.  The top 20 will be revealed on Sunday, April 14's episode.

From there, the top 10 is around the corner! Once we know who made the top 20, they will sing and we will vote again. That vote determines the top 10, who will be revealed during a live episode from Hollywood. The judges then get to put four in they think deserve a shot at the title. That means 14 singers will move on. All of Maine has your back, Julia!
